This was exactly what I was looking for, very easy to store and when needed it is easy to install. I can also set it up as a back up for my larger boat. The setup is very well made and looks like it was last me years.

You’ll be hard pressed to find anything better if you have to add nav lights to a kayak! I put an electric trolling motor on my yak so the law required I have navigation lights on the yak if under power at night. This kit is really good albiet a bit pricey. There’s 2 routes to go, either wire up your own low profile LED lights and run them off a fish finder battery, or get something like this. You can’t go wrong with this kit but I can point out a few things to think about. First, the button to turn on and off is small and not easy to use. Secondly, they should have included an orange flag to go on the rear white light post. They make a white light/visibility kit that has the orange flag. It’s not necessary for the nav light package but it would have been a good idea. Mounts; the kit came with a weird nose mount kit. That might work for some boats but won’t on most kayaks. I had a railblaza track mount from another boat that I used with this kit. If I hadn’t have had that, I would have had to buy one. A kit, at this price point, should absolutely come with 2 mounts of which at least one should be rail compatible, if not both. It’s necessary to also have one that can be deck mounted and this kit comes with that but for the price, you should have enought mounts to cover just about every configuration you’d find on a kayak. The lights on this are extremely bright so very good illumination/visibility. Turning them on is a bit of a pain as you have to crawl to the bow and then there’s that tiny, hard to press on button. I can turn in my seat and reach the rear white light on the pole “IF” i don’t use all of the pole pieces but leave one out. So it’s a good kit and I haven’t seen any better. If I had more time I think you could rig up your own Nav lights and have them wired to a switch to make turning them on and off easy. Having said that, it’s hard to beat the simplicity of a system that is on its own batter power and can be removed from the boat when not in use. You simply can’t go wrong wiht this kit.
