MEET THE ASSASSIN
The Backwater Assassin Carbon Fiber Hybrid Paddle is the full-size version of its legendary predecessor, the Assault Hand Paddle. Weighing right at 38 ounces and 42 ounces, respectively, paddle design and technology is again moving forward! The Assassin is available in 2 different adjustable lengths: 230-240cm (90.5-94.5in) & 250-260cm (98.5-102.5). The Assassin kayak paddles not only display the patented “hook and teeth” blade design and raised graphics package, they also provide unsurpassed performance and versatility. The hook is great for grabbing a line in the water, pulling in decoys, pulling you closer to the dock, or making a tree limb easier to reach. The oversized blade helps to pull a lot of water when paddling and makes turning even easier. The Assassin was designed for both high angle and low angle paddlers. The shaft is made of a carbon hybrid material to help reduce the overall weight and the oversized ABS injected nylon blade is hard enough to push off on any surface and not crack or flex. Is your lure stuck in a tree? No problem, just grab the branch. Too close to the rocks or oyster shells? No problem, just give a push. For added length to the paddle, consider adding the 35cm Carbon Fiber Paddle Extension. This extension works with both versions of the Assassin Paddle. WARNING
- Available in 230-240cm or 250-260cm adjustable lengths

- Hook feature to grab your line, waterfowl decoy, dock, or tree limb
- Serrated teeth edge can be used to launch yourself off solid surfaces
- Made of strong, fade resistant plastic

- For added length, consider the 35cm Carbon Fiber Paddle Extension

If you like the Assault, you will love the Assassin. Same great paddle only this one can paddle your whole kayak. As usual, YAKGEAR with great customer service as well!
Tim –
I already had the Assault Paddle and I’ve been waiting for this a long time. Light weight, very easy to use and works great in shallow bays of Florida Gulf coast.
Jeremy –
Great upgrade from my pelican. This thing is gnarly, I love the serrated portion, you can really get a bite when pushing off. To top it off it feels great.

Just on looks alone this paddle is bad ass. I have yet to test it out but I believe it’s going to be sweet. I just purchased a Vibe Sea Ghost 110 and the paddle it came with was fine, but the Assassin….this is going to be the icing on the cake. Plus with the words Ass mentioned 2 times in it’s name…I’m an Ass man (ladies only). ????

I hunt ducks and fish out of my kayak. These paddles are awesome! U can cut off a snakes head with the serrated edges, grab limbs, decoys, fishing line and push off the shore easily without fear of breaking. Strong as hell. Highly recommend! If you are a bigger guy and use a large kayak I would recommend the 250-260 cm. Very light as well.
Randy –
New to kayaking but this is my 3rd paddle and I can’t imagine that there would be a better one out there. Light, tough and versatile plus it has a very high ‘LCF’ (looks cool factor). Combined with Yak Gear, a great combination!

I have used a number of different paddles over the years. This is hands down my favorite paddle. Very durable, lightweight, and affordable. This paddle is a must have for all kayak anglers. The reason for 4 stars is because of the drip rings. They are pretty cheesy and flimsy. Switching these out is difficult on this paddle as you have to remove the center clamp.

This is an awesome paddle. It’s lightweight and the comfortable. I got stuck in a shallow part of a marsh a couple weeks ago and the teeth on the end were great for getting traction to push myself out.
Daniel Rakers –
One awesome paddle! Light weight Carbon fiber , pieces fit very nicely no slip or wobble at all. I love the blade configuration, the serrated tips are great for pushing off no slipping off when using. The little hooks it the tip allows you to grab hold of branches to pull yourself in, it’s also great for retrieving lures in trees or hooking your pole if ever you drop it in the river. Highly recommend this paddle.
Keith Seams –
Durability, Strength, high functioning paddle. Well worth the investment. Highly recommend.
Daniel –
Awesome paddle. Tough and reliable.
The hook works great for grabbing onto brush.
Jason –
Love the aggressive design and fish graphic. Constantly using the hook and adjustable length to paddle seated or standing up. Very rugged paddle, quality paddle.

Assassin is everything they said it would be
Love it

I purchased this paddle for a series of kayak trips my sons and I had planned. It never arrived and the replacement is now late as well. I was not about to cancel any father son striper outings so I bought a different paddle altogether now I don’t need this assassin at all. If it ever arrives I have to decide whether to send it back or keep it to replace my cheap emergency paddle I store in the hull.

I have been using the Backwater Assassin paddle since 2019 and really happy with the function of it. The “hook and teeth” is very useful if you need to retrieve a lure/line/rope from a tree or chop at some small branches. The ABS plastic of the paddle is very durable. My only issue is after time the carbon fiber shaft epoxy coating started to yellow, some bubbling and chipping has occurred down to the fiber. It’s probably not a good idea to store your paddles out in the environment if you want to keep them looking nice. I have refinished the shafts with some outdoor epoxy and they look brand new. Overall satisfied with this purchase.
